COLLECTION

The Singleton Civic Art Collection has had many benefactors over the years. The collection began in the early 1970s with the Pottery Prize and gained momentum in the 1980s, receiving winning entries from the Singleton Art Prize. Private donations have significantly enriched the collection, adding some truly outstanding artworks.

Generous sponsorship from local businesses has allowed for acquisitions, which would have otherwise been impossible. The collection reflects the long tradition of support through the Singleton District Artists and the Rotary Club of Singleton on Hunter. For many years, the Singleton Library and Council Offices have hosted the collection, but the purpose-built Singleton Arts + Cultural Centre now enables us to store works and host featured exhibitions on rotation.
