Curiosity over destruction.
Join artist Jono Everett and the Death Cycle of a Found Piano team for a unique opportunity to dismantle a piano and discover the hidden mechanics, materials and stories inside.
Participants will carefully deconstruct a piano gifted to Upper Arts Hunter, exploring how an object at the end of its original life can become the beginning of something entirely new.
Throughout the day, musicians will record and respond to the sounds produced during the process, contributing to an evolving sound artwork that will form part of the project’s final presentation.
Participants Will:
- Learn about the anatomy of a piano
- Assist in safely deconstructing the instrument
- Explore concepts of reuse, transformation and creative practice
- Contribute to a collaborative sound project
- Help create materials for the next stage of the project
