Arts Upper Hunter and Singleton Arts + Cultural Centre are proud to present NEXT//STUDIO, an innovative three-day creative industries workshop designed for high school students passionate about digital art, animation, and music production.
With support from the NSW Government, this intensive program utilizes SACC’s state-of-the-art Digital Studio to introduce young creators to cutting-edge technologies including Virtual Reality, augmented reality, digital illustration, and professional sound recording equipment. Led by facilitators artist Grace Barnes and musician and educator Sam Madden, students of all skill levels will collaborate to create impactful digital artworks, frame-by-frame animations, and original music compositions, culminating in a community exhibition that showcases their creative achievements.
This exciting opportunity combines hands-on learning with professional industry skills, empowering the next generation of digital artists and musicians while fostering creative collaboration and artistic expression in the Upper Hunter region.

Digital art and animation activities:
Students will learn the basics of digital illustration and animation, engaging in fun games to hone their skills and make learning enjoyable. Whilst working together to create a final exhibition to share their artworks with the community.

- Create quick and effective frame-by-frame animations
- Transform animations into augmented reality components
- Come away with practical skills on how to set up digital and print files correctly.
- Record sound and make your own beats with the samples
- Learn to manipulate sound to make music
- Have a go at using a sound board and making your own set

- Learn and use elements of visual communication to collaboratively create an exhibition.
